The Blues

I was listening to Eric Clapton and BB King's Riding with the King and I recalled reading Blues for Dummies once in a bookstore on how you should/should not sing the blues. It was just plain hilarious because it's not like you can sing the blues about anything under the sun, there were some requirements and it usually involves the more tragic and ironic side of life. But too bad I couldn't recall much about it. So I googled "how to sing the blues" and found something equally if not more hilarious on the subject matter, though this is actually meant as a joke, I think it does showcase some of the requirements of singing the blues. I won't get to the nitty-gritty of what is blues all about, how to play it (music theory etc), flattened fifths/sevenths, dominant seventh, history of blues, blues styles etc. I guess I'll save that for another entry (if I'm hardworking enough).
